Mesquite started as a stop on the Texas and Pacific Railway in 1873 and incorporated in 1887. It stayed small for a long time, with 1,696 people in 1950. Then Dallas spilled east, and the city reached 27,526 by 1960 and 55,131 by 1970. Town East Mall opened in 1971, and the Mesquite Rodeo got its start in 1946. Plenty of driveways from that boom are past sixty years old now. We replace them and pour pads and extensions. Call (469) 257-3979 for a free estimate in Mesquite.
Mesquite permits and inspections
Mesquite is its own city, so Dallas permits do not cover work here. The city's building inspections include flatwork, which it describes as sidewalks, driveways and approaches. We check what your job needs, apply for it and line up the inspection before the pour. The permits guide explains how the suburbs differ from Dallas.
What we pour in Mesquite
- Replacement driveways on lots from the 1960s and 1970s
- RV, boat and trailer pads at 6 inches thick
- Wider driveways and side parking
- Alley aprons and front approaches
- Panel repair where a section dropped at the garage
Mesquite sits on the same expansive Blackland clay as east Dallas. When the old slab is out we look for wet, soft ground and fix it before we pour.

Questions about driveway work in Mesquite
- Does Mesquite inspect driveway work?
- Yes. Mesquite lists flatwork among its building inspections, and that covers driveways and approaches. We set up the visit.
- Can I add an RV pad beside my Mesquite house?
- Often, yes. We check the city's rules on where an RV can park and how much paving the lot can take, then design the pad.
